Simply the most refreshing glimpse I have ever encountered into a Palestinian Maronite Christian’s deep personal experience and spiritual insights. As one who lived in Jerusalem, I appreciate Moubarak’s accurate and vivid descriptions of the Via Dolorosa (way of sorrows). I was riveted to the book as I walked each step with the author gleaning valuable insights. Without attempting to defend the actual route of the Roman Catholic traditional fourteen stages of the cross, he simply shares an insider’s spiritual pilgrimage. Moubarak’s knowledge of history and the importance in understanding Jerusalem’s modern conflicts places this book as a must read. —Donald L.
